Liverpool Brazilica 2015
Photographs by Patrick Trollope.

THE Liverpool Brazilica Festival took place over 17 July to 19 July 2015. The event is the largest celebration of Brazilian culture in the United Kingdom and held every July, since 2008. The Samba Carnival Parade is the highlight of the event and this year it took place on 18 July, retuning to its old route that stared next to Liverpool University, then snaked its way passed the Metropolitan Cathedral, Passed the newly rebuilt Everyman Theatre, past St Luke's Church Gardens, through some of the Cities Club land areas and eventually ending at China City and finishing under the biggest Chinese Arch in Europe. We filmed some highlights as the parade danced its way through the route, and took loads of photographs... so many, we are putting some extra photos into next week's issue... please email us your views on this event to our newsroom, via:- news24@southportreporter.com and let us know what you thought of it. Southport Cosplay Community Event
Photograph by Patrick Trollope.

THE Fox and Goose, Southport, held our 1st Southport Cosplay Community Event on 24 July 2015. The event was very well attended, but not as many costumes turned up as we expected. This was not as bad as it sounds as many did want to find out about it so they can join in the next 1 with a costume. Many of them ended up joining in, by getting their faces pained. The night also had a fantastic band entertaining us all, called:- 'Earwurm'. If you wanted to attended this event and let your inner geek out, but could not do so, we are looking at holding another very soon! So keep an eye on our site for information! We will have full coverage of this event in the next issue... Plus we will show you who won the best costume. Also just as a small note, if you are not 100% what Cosplay is, it is all about dressing up, having fun and pretending to be a fictional character (usually a Sci-Fi, comic book, or anime character). The Cosplay community are often connected to anime, manga performance art as well...
